My name is Shivaram Kumar and after two and a half decades of working with people from every conceivable race, religion, ethnicity, language, nationality and orientation, empowering them with self-belief and confidence, my wife Anjali and I know for sure that words make all the difference. The words we listen to, and the words we speak.
The aim with this blog is to make people aware of the power of words, because once we know how to surround and program ourselves with the right words, we can collectively increase self-esteem in society. My Recent Book
Finishing Strong- Iron Man, Silken Heart
Bill Britt was one of the greatest business leaders of the 20th & 21st centuries. I had the privilege of spending time with him, learning and observing. This included watching him on stage for hours on end, listening to his CDs and streaming talks, and most importantly, sitting at his feet, spending face time with him, singing with him and building a unique bond.
He would often tell us that a dreamer will always have unfulfilled dreams when he breathes his last, and if they were worthwhile dreams, others would carry the torch and help fulfill them. Bill Britt was an influence leader, and was able to create a strong vision that other leaders bought into, of helping the everyday person with much needed guidance and mentorship on how to create economic and personal freedom. He was able to realize many unusually strong dreams before he passed away on Jan 23,2013. Since then, his team of leaders have taken ownership of fulfilling the rest, and many of their own.
One dream Bill Britt had was to put his thoughts and life in a book. As the Britt leadership team was seeking professional help after Bill’s passing, I felt inspired to write a two pager entitled “Enter Bill Britt”. The rest of the Britt Management team liked it so much that I was entrusted with writing the whole book.
I am honored and humbled and have no words to express the gratitude I feel that I was given this great opportunity.
Someone asked me if I employed a ghost writer for this book. Frankly, I am only vaguely aware of what that entails. I haven’t yet googled “ghost writer”. At this point, I cannot imagine how someone outside of Bill Britt’s sphere of influence else could attempt to convey the essence of who he was, his beliefs and his messages. I am proud to say that I wrote every single word in this book, with some editing support from people whose names are mentioned in the “Gratitude and Latitude” section of the book.
A book about Bill Britt is a daunting task. The actual writing time was not more than a few weeks, but it took a couple of years for all of it to come together. Finding a title took some time, but I believe “Iron Man, Silken Heart” is a befitting title. But that wasn’t the toughest part.
How would I finish the book? What should the last chapter look like? After all this is a book about Bill Britt,who was a master at words, and always finished strong. His life, his business, his relationships and his words. He finished strong.
After a lot of thinking and prayer, it came to me. The last chapter is entitled “Enter Bill Britt Part 2”. I hope it did to the book what Bill Britt taught us to do in life…. finish strong.
Since the super successful release of the book in Jan 2017, I have been receiving many emails, voicemails, social media posts and text messages with meaningful, heart-felt comments about the book. Needless to say, they are too precious to be scattered all over the place and lost in social media. I humbly request that you post your thoughts/comments right on this blog, in the “Comments” section. I will cherish this collection of your words in my world.

I experienced a range of emotions from sadness to laughter while reading it and, many times had to read through tears welling up in my eyes.
I could relive many of the moments you share in the book. It made it so personal and my sense of gratitude grew bigger. It was the first book that I read with so much anticipation, emotion, recollecting some experiences that we had the honor of being live, listening to Bill as were so wonderful captured in the book.
Loved the Enter Bill Britt and the way you wrote about the atmosphere and one could feel being live at a function reading that introduction. I just finished reading your masterpiece of a book, Iron Man Silken Heart. This book has impacted me beyond words. I learned a lot about Bill Britt that I didn’t know before. The way your book put all of these pieces of Bill’s life, teachings, and impact together and tied them in a bow is truly amazing and has filled in pieces in my mind about Bill Britt and his purpose. Every single page of the book is filled with nuggets of wisdom and principles that I will implement in my life more strongly than I ever have before.
When I was in 3rd grade, I wanted to write a biography report on Bill Britt. The teacher said that he was “not famous enough” for me to write a report on him. He was my number one choice, and although my other choices (George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and a couple of others) were influential in creating America, I believe that Bill Britt is the #1 force fighting for Free Enterprise and America today. Hopefully, if my future children want to write a biography on this legend, the fact that there is a book written on him will show their teachers that Bill Britt was just as much a man of influence, if not more, than any “famous” historic figure.

This book is an eye opener and speaks truth! This is not only just a story of Bill Britt but also an understanding of where his teachings came from. Sonal and I have not had the fortune of meeting Bill Britt in person. Thank you so very much for writing this book which, in my humble opinion, is a wonderful book about a wonderful person! I have heard you speak, and greatly enjoy your sense of humor, so was looking forward to reading it.
I am relatively new to Amway & BWW (4 months ~ sponsor Shobhit Madan, mentor Rajeev & Mini Sajja, team leader Mr. Nanda Sringari), so for me, Bill Britt was just a name ~ albeit spoken very reverently, and a voice. Through your book, I’ve come to know and respect him as a person. And what a unique person! Just the fact that he worked 3 jobs at the age of 11 to buy his mother a piano sets him apart from the rest of humanity! Never heard of any other child who did that!! (And she still spanked him!)
It was nice to see he also had doubts (that bit about him calling himself a dummy, begging to be parted from his money) and loved to tease people (starting a talk with the benefits of breast feeding!) Only a man like him could have thought of and actually brought to life a system that would educate and help newbies and promote the exchange of ideas globally.
Your book also helped me understand the relationship between Amway and BWW, and a few other things. Thank you for the photographs, wish you could have recorded the piano and song sessions too! Your words made those occasions come alive! Thank you for introducing us to the warm and giving, fun loving, larger than life person who was Bill Britt.

Having attended Free Enterprise Days in Richmond Colosseum and becoming aware of the coming of Iron Man Silken Heart struck wonders and we knew we had to get our hands on it! Congratulations and Thank You Kumar for your time and efforts and everyone who played a contribution in the difficult task of putting a never-ending legacy into writing!
It had to be read from cover to cover in one single sitting, having listened to as many Bill Britt CD’s made available from FED and to Australia, a great gist of Bill’s presence is felt. Never met Bill Britt, thankfully Peggy set the atmosphere on that Sunday.
Iron Man Silken Heart brought me closer to the Bulldog, closer to his beliefs, values, action, thought process, heart, compassion and much more. It has certainty filled a void in my heart and mind the kind of experience at Richmond FED can be in addition, had Bill shared some time on stage.
Each titled chapter is paced and written beautifully. Such a man who a boy has never met in person but has only heard from CD’s and seen in videos. Part II brought a river of tears as re-living all the moments described in the prior chapters is slowly coming to a close. All the way across the globe this Superman Teddy Bear, through its legacy has instilled a dream. Fostered Hope.

I just read the book Iron Man , Silken Heart . It was so good to know so many information about the legend. Thank you for writing a book on Bill Britt. Because we are not fortunate to meet him in person. and we only heard him through tapes. I liked his Father Power talk. In Fact I am little bit jealous of the fact that you were very close to him and able to write a book on him. Books revealed so many things about Bill Britt and we also realise that he is also human being with vulnerabilities. But books hit Chennai Britt only in April 2017. First thing , after hearing it, i rushed to Britt office in chennai and bought it immediately. Anyway thank you so much for writing a book on bill britt . It was a eye opener for all of us who do not get to see him in person. Bill always live in our thoughts and we continue to listen to his CDs which will impact our lives positively for sure. Last but not least, I have one special one connection with Bill. That is , I am sharing my birthday with him. That is the only satisfaction in the end for me. It was very refreshing to read your book on Bill Britt . It is an excellent portrayal of the man who has made an amazing positive impact on people’s lives all around the world. I could not put down the book once I started reading! Although I have met Bill and have had the privilege to spend some time of time back stage in functions as well as at his home, the book was a big eye opener to know so many other wonderful qualities of the man we have come to know as a leader of leaders.
I remember a conversation that Bill had with me on the Israeli – Palestinian situation and ways to find a peaceful solution and he said “Governments have been trying for many years but we have the solution -all we need to do is break 25 Platinums on each side of the border and the problem is solved”!
Thank you for putting the time and energy in bringing out this book – it is truly a fabulous piece of work!…

I finished reading this book ! It is an excellent book very well written by Kumarji ! 3 most important lessons that I learned from this book which I am practising in my life are:-
* Bill Britt’s concept of “joy of living” ie. rejoicing in all situations in life.
*His positive affirmation that “God is speaking through me” so maybe that also made him say life changing things.
*How well he explains “why to forgive?”..we judge people on their weakness in areas where we are strong but there maybe 10 other areas where they are stronger than us &can judge us but they don’t..so life is about judging less &forgiving more..
Just finished this incredible book last night, couldn’t put it down at all. Thank you for writing this book and giving people like myself the opportunity to truly get to know Bill Britt better. After hearing me talk about it, now my wife, sister, mother wants to read it as well, to learn about him and his legacy!… Awesome… Just finished complete book in 2 days… love to read again multiple times….
Everyone wrote such wonderful, heartfelt messages on the book. This is so touching to see that your words have made ripples all around the world. The book was absolutely fantastic and I want to say ditto to what everyone else has written so beautifully. One thing to add is that it truly takes a special person to even have the brainpower combined with heart combined with emotional quotient and servitude to be able to even capture all the facets of Bill. All the small nuances, the words that capture meaning behind the humor, the small observations you have made. Truly, No one else could have or was ever better to write this than YOU! You are so incredibly special, both you and Anjali! I am Beyond Blessed and so thankful every day. We are breaking 100 Diamonds a Year, it is done.

Incredible Book. Being spiritual , I could relate to Bill’s teaching so much and I missed meeting him in his lifetime. Thanks to kumar for presenting the IRON MAN to us, who haven’t had the oppurtunity to meet him otherwise.

Amazing book, what a leader , relationship builder , How he had impacted the lives of people around the globe. I never met to him but after reading this book, I can feel essence of bill britt inside me. I have always loved listening to bill Britt. However, this book actually gave me a sneek peak on who Bill Britt was. Throughout the book, I could feel the love he has spread and the respect he has gained from his team. I was not so fortunate to see and meet Bill Britt live. However, this book brought me up close to meeting bill Britt. So much so that I actually cried while reading “Enter Bill Britt 2”. I could feel the loss and pain people around him must have felt while still feeling his presence around.
I have not read many books which make me feel low when the book finished.
Thank you Kumar for writing it from your heart. The best gift you give to Bill Britt and people like me who will never get a chance to know the Iron Man ..
